Throughout The Week

This was taken from my window, just to show you the type of house I'm living in. My room is on the 2nd floor.

My bed is the one on the right!

The room I share with Sharon. The desk on the right is mine. =)

Well, the first night in Kampar was unexpected. I thought I would be camping in my room for at least a week before class starts on the 1st but BOY AM I WRONG! My roomie, Sharon, took me and some of her friends out for 'yum cha' which I heard is one very famous night activity here. (There's not much else to do otherwise anyway... XD) We cycled out and reached home at about 2 am. Since I was told we only have to collect our UTAR tee and file the next day, I slept in.

We meet up again during brunch hour and talked awhile a little before going back to campus to get my things and such. It was a terribly hot day SO we decided to go to a waterfall nearby for some refreshing and cooling fun! The view is beautiful and the water extremely cold. Luckily some elderly made a fire nearby, I can warm up by the crackling flames. It was an experience to remember indeed. Going to a waterfall with people I've only met for one or two days and walking in the rain back to the van picking us up. It was indeed a beautiful, yet dirty, memory. The mud was sticking to our feet by the time we're done. The lack of sleep and food, I missed breakfast and forgot lunch, rendered me totally powerless against the pull of fatigue and I did not went out for dinner but called in a delivery. [Pictures will be posted another time, I have yet to get my hands on them]

The next day, Tuesday, sees me unpacking. Was in the whole day so there's not much to do except for facebooking and reading Fruits Basket.

Wednesday was A TOTAL NIGHTMARE! I wish I had skipped instead. Imagine hours of talks and a lack of sleep combined and you see me a zombie walking along the campus halls. I was such a good girl from 9 to 4, 7 HOURS, but had to run off after that. My eyelids could barely open, it was such a relieve getting on the bus back...

I've been waking late almost everyday here, this is not a good thing but I am keeping to my schedule so it should not be a problem. (I hope) Went for the PTPTN briefing at 2 by myself. It was short and we ended early. I missed the bus back so I walked instead. If it's not for the heat, I would actually enjoy the walk. It was peaceful and serene, except for 2 cars giving me the hone because they are in the car while I am walking. It was really rude! But what can I expect? Not everyone is so kind as to pick up someone walking back home on her own.

Now Friday, is the day to break my 'loneliness' curse. Ice Breaking was a hit! My group was not a very competitive group and we slacked about most of the games but the most important thing of all, we achieved = Having fun and making friends. Although I am the oldest in my group, the others are mostly taking foundation, making me feel my age indeed. My feeling at that time could be described as a wilted flower among freshly picked ones. (Overly dramatic I know, but then again, I have a tendency to be dramatic) I caught a ride with a friend of my team leader, SM. So, SM, Ouch and I went for lunch before going back home. I had to go back to campus again to make a new public bank account so I went with my roomie. However, we missed the bus, AGAIN and had to walk home. Me, i'm walking in zig zag patterns again, my energy drained from the Ice Breaking Telematch and the long way back home. Dinner was with the guys from my group and their friends. We were laughing all the way although I have to endure being called an 'aunty'.

We actually said we wanted to have wantan mee on Saturday morning but, NO ONE COULD WAKE UP. And so, ended up having brunch alone and dinner together instead. There were about 9 of us. Dora and her 3 housemates, English (Yi Wen), Eva, and Elyssa ((I hope I spelled it correct)), SM, Ouch, KC, KC's Rubic Cube playing friend and ME! After dinner, SM, Ouch and I ended up playing cards at KC's house. We played Chor Tai Di ((I never lose at this)) and Bluff ((I admit, I'M A TERRIBLE LIAR. I lost a lot of times. Sigh...)) This time we promised that we'll wake up for breakfast AGAIN. XD

So this morning was wantan mee at 9.30 am, we shared a table with an elderly couple and had some interesting conversation. After that we went to Tesco for some air conditioned shopping and met with Dora and her housemates again as well as some of the other guys from our Ice Breaking group. When we were sitting down at the food court, I suggested that the guys stare at the girls who were sitting a few tables in front of us for fun. They of course noticed we were staring ((Who could've missed THAT!?)) and were too shy to return our stares. XD It was hilarious, REALLY! Lunch was lou shu fun at the market and after that in the car, we spontaneously decide to drive to Ipoh for the rest of the day. Kampar proved to have nil entertainment. We got lost quite a few times on the roads of Ipoh because the one showing the way ((Ahem, Me.)) is totally bad with directions. We watched Monsters vs Aliens FOC at GSC Ipoh Parade and were laughing our heads off the entire time at the absurdity of the show. It really is a good show for laughs. Dinner was taugeh chicken, a food popular in Ipoh and finally the journey back. Reached home at 9 and I was already yawning. A day to enjoy ourselves to the fullest before lectures start tomorrow. Thankfully, mine starts at 12, of course I won't be waking up too early, no? XD Can't wait for it!
