Last Minute Work

And so I procrastinated and only did my slides for my English for Science presentation the day before I am supposed to present. The worse thing about the situation is the fact that I have yet to choose my topic for the presentation. Stressing about it for some time, I finally decided to talk about the Fibonacci Sequence. It seem to be an interesting enough topic and I hope that it would not bore the rest of the class... It was only after I did more research that it struck me. The golden ratio, which is the ratio of one of the numbers from the sequence against the number before it, is something really magnificent and mysterious indeed...

The Fibonacci Sequence starts with the number 0. Then, it continues with 1. The numbers after that are obtained by the addition of the two digits before it. And thus :

0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89...

The sequence then continue on indefinitely. This progression signifies growth and the ability to learn from the things you did before to acquire the next piece of information.

A rectangle with the length and width of two numbers from the sequence is called the golden rectangle. This rectangle can be broken down into squares the size of the next Fibonacci number.


And when an arc is drawn into the squares, a pattern is formed. This pattern is a spiral. And it's significance is where it is found, not only in structures of the natural world but also in products of human culture.

The Nautilus shell... Which, with every growth, adds on another Fibonacci number...

These are just seen in small scale in our daily lives, but directly above us in the vast universe, there are also galaxies that follows the golden ratio. Amazing indeed huh?


This ratio is like a blueprint. It appears to be the trademark of a designer. The proof of a creator. Something left behind indicating the one who was there. The fingerprint of God...

Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou


A romantic drama that brought me on a roller coaster ride of turbulent emotions. It made me realise something though... I have always gotten angry over the characters who shut themselves off and leave everyone else in the dark about things while trying to deal with their problems on their own. Little did I realise that I have been doing exactly just that lately... To those who were worried for me during these few days, sorry for all the trouble I've caused and thank you... Thank you for bearing with me even though I have been acting like an idiot. Also, to the few who stuck to me and those who gave me advice, I am forever grateful to you for pulling me back from the dump that I had been in. It makes me happy to have friends who supports me and encourages me when I am down. *runs back to the flock*

Fire

The building is burning. Heat and smoke filled the air around me. Choking I try looking for a way of escape. But it seemed like I am cut off from every direction. Alone, all I can do is wait for help to come. But how many would actually dare to brave a burning building? Knowing the pain the fire could inflict and the suffocation due to lack of air, most would run away from it. We are drilled to run away from fire since young. Who in their right mind, with no firefighter experience, would run into a building that is so near collapsing?

Giving Thanks

A great sense of joy overcame me and I suddenly feel like jumping for joy and shouting out praises for God. The day spent in doing nothing is actually good for me. I realised that I have been neglecting myself quite a bit lately to the point of exhaustion. Not physically nor mentally but I have not been taking good care of my emotional and spiritual needs at all. I did not idle about the entire day of course but my time was given to God. I realised also that though I am busy with studies, time spent with God actually gives me the energy to continue, it is not a waste of time at all! And when I have finally laid down all that has been worrying me lately and commit it into His hands, a sense of peace filled me... Things are starting to look up now. Praise God indeed!

Hanasakeru Seishonen


So, while trying to kill time and not fall into emoness as I tend to sometimes, I found this anime. It revolves around a girl called Kajika Burnsworth who is the daughter of a business tycoon in NYC. She has a very interesting past and her lineage if exposed, could bring about change and scandal to a small country call Raginei. Because her father is the illegitimate son of the past king of Raginei, King Mahaty, she is now the next in line to the throne of Raginei. And because of that, her father, Harry Burnsworth, wanted to find someone for her who would protect her no matter what the consequences in the event of his death. So he came up with a game for Kajika. He picked out 3 guys that would be her future husband, Eugene de Volkan, Prince Rumaty Ivan of Raginei and Carl Rosenthal. Each picked for their unique status and personality, Kajika is supposed to discover these 3 and to pick out one of them as her future husband. Fang Li-Ren, a brotherly like figure to Kajika is to keep watch over her as things unfold. However, it is getting harder for him to suppress his feelings for her as he sees her meeting up with the 3 candidates her father picked. Although predictable, the anime has a nice twist to it involving the political turmoil in Raginei. It is here itself when Kajika was pursued by an assassin and is at the brink of death that she realises the one person she could not live without. She finally realised how love really feels like. And in the end too, it is revealed that the 3 that her father picked are all not suitable candidates for her anyway. They are used as a measure to Li-Ren, the boy who was groomed from young to succeed Harry as Kajika's protector.

Of course from the start I was rooting for Li-Ren all the way considering how good looking he is... Although the other 3 has something about them that makes them special too, but Li-Ren is still the best!!!!! Haha... At least it takes my mind of things when I am drooling over anime guys and engrossed by the storyline.
Takes my mind off worrying for others when I have not even dealt with my own problems myself... Now to go looking for another anime...

Maid Maiden, Monday


New work by Kaoru! By some twisted fate Alivia landed herself working as a 'tweeny' maid at the rich Bennett's house. She has to pretend to be his girlfriend at school while looking for her prince who had helped her years before. Only 4 chapters are in this volume so it's kinda hard to see how the characters feel about each other. Could Alivia be so deluded about her prince that she does not see the good in Bennett? Could Bennett be in love with another girl but is using Alivia to hide the fact? Could Shawn be Alivia's prince or is it someone else? So many questions unanswered! I can't wait for the next volume to be out!
