And so I procrastinated and only did my slides for my English for Science presentation the day before I am supposed to present. The worse thing about the situation is the fact that I have yet to choose my topic for the presentation. Stressing about it for some time, I finally decided to talk about the Fibonacci Sequence. It seem to be an interesting enough topic and I hope that it would not bore the rest of the class... It was only after I did more research that it struck me. The golden ratio, which is the ratio of one of the numbers from the sequence against the number before it, is something really magnificent and mysterious indeed...
The Fibonacci Sequence starts with the number 0. Then, it continues with 1. The numbers after that are obtained by the addition of the two digits before it. And thus :
0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89...
The sequence then continue on indefinitely. This progression signifies growth and the ability to learn from the things you did before to acquire the next piece of information.
A rectangle with the length and width of two numbers from the sequence is called the golden rectangle. This rectangle can be broken down into squares the size of the next Fibonacci number.
And when an arc is drawn into the squares, a pattern is formed. This pattern is a spiral. And it's significance is where it is found, not only in structures of the natural world but also in products of human culture.

These are just seen in small scale in our daily lives, but directly above us in the vast universe, there are also galaxies that follows the golden ratio. Amazing indeed huh?
